What is it that makes firsts so special?  As a working Mom, I try to convince myself they aren't.  It eases the pain if I miss one.
Our little man had his first haircut the other day.  And while the end result is super cute (I mean...look at that kid), the haircut itself really wasn't that big of a deal.  Brandon tried to tell me this.  I told him he had to be present for the event, even though he didn't really find it as crucial as I did.  "What makes this any more important that the first time he does anything else?"  To which I replied, "EVERY first is important."  And while this is it really?

I think being around for the journey is more important to a child, and isn't the end result is what really matters?
