OK, so I know it's Tuesday, and I didn't even post a Maternity Monday, last week. But, I'm pregnant, and tired, and it was holiday time...so, yeah.
Brandon and I took our "Babymoon," this past weekend. We were going to go away, but we decided it wouldn't be the wisest use of our money. So, we had a Staycation Babymoon. It was actually quite fun.
We started the weekend with what was supposed to be dinner and s'mores over the fire pit. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the fire going. So, it ended up going like this. "Quick! Better cook your hotdog before the fire goes out...This isn't really done...I'm cold..."
Then we came inside and roasted marshmallows (and Brandon made s'mores...I don't like them) over candles on a plate. Still yummy.
Then we spent the rest of our evening playing Guess Who and Dominoes.
Saturday we slept in and then went to our local zoo. It was awesome weather, as it's been unseasonably warm, here. So we spent a couple of hours wandering around our little zoo, in 55 degree weather (on December 31st!).
We got done just in time for me to be getting tired, so we went home, and I happily napped for a few hours. That evening we went to a local comedy club. I've been wanting to go with Brandon for years (he loves stand up comedy), but we'd never been together. It was so much fun!
Then, we were going to go find some fireworks, downtown...but I had no idea where to go, and we didn't wanna' drive around aimlessly (or hang out for 3 hours before midnight). So, we simply headed home, watched some movies (which we paused to watch the ball drop), drank some Martinelli's, and got our kiss at midnight. I was proud I made it to midnight without crashing!
Sunday, we slept in, again, then headed to our fancy theater and watched We Bought a Zoo. So good, by the way. Wholesome (though there was a bit of light language...so maybe not the best for young, immature ears), touching, cute, and fun! Plus, going to the theater is always a treat for me!
That's about it, but it was great time, together, just the two of us. I'm pretty sure it will be a while before we get much of that, again.
