My New Laundry "Room"

I can't believe I haven't posted about this, yet.  I know I told you about my entertainment center redo, but I didn't show you it's new home.

Our laundry area was sort of awful.  It's in the cold, lonely basement.  I let it get very messy, and really let my laundry pile up.

See?  Gross. (And this isn't as bad as it could get)

I basically just cleaned the area well (swept, mopped, wiped down my machines), put in a rug we weren't using, added a cover to my folding table, and put my laundry center (the entertainment center) on the side to create a "wall" of sorts.  I added little jars to contain all the things that come out of pockets.  One is for money, one for receipts, and one for random stuff.  Now, laundry is much more pleasant, and feels much cleaner (i.e. if I drop something clean on the floor, I don't feel the need to re-wash it).

 Ahh...Breathe a sigh of relief.

  2. Ditto on the rug! Are those jars for the things you find after the laundry is already done? Or are you so good you check pockets before it goes in the wash?

  3. Oh, I always check pockets. Clothes are ruined when pens or teacher markers don't find their way out of pockets!
