More Baby Crafts!

I have a friend who is due with her first baby in just a few weeks.  So, of course, I had to make the sweet little bundle something and send it along to Mama.   Take a look!

I made these cute little shoes using the tutorial from this blog.  I had never worked with interfacing, before, but once I figured that out, it was a breeze (aside from the part that I thought I was being "smart" and changed up a step from the tutorial, only to find out, I misunderstood and had to go back to redo it the way it instructed).

I know it looks like they are accented in red, but it is actually more of a deep mulberry color.  Sort of deep fuschia, maybe?  The soles and buttons are corduroy in the same mulberry color, and the inside lining is a soft yellow flannel.  I just love them!

You may have seen this post where I made a little elephant for a friend's baby.  I have made this little gal (or guy depending on the recipient) a few times and just love it.  I got the pattern out of a craft magazine called Stitch.  This time, I took the same concept and came up with this little owl.

Her body is a soft flannel, her wings are that fun minky fabric, and her beak is leftover from a towel project. As you can see, she's not perfect (that gives it character, right?), but my husband assured me, "Babies don't care."  He's right, they don't.
